Vacancy Description

Are you an enthusiastic, hardworking, team-player looking for a new role in democratic services?

This is an exciting time to join Waverley Borough Council playing a key role in supporting all the Council Committees, as well as providing support to councillors and senior management at the heart of the Council’s decision-making as we begin to work in collaboration with Guildford Borough Council.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Democratic Services Officer with experience of working in a committee services role in a local authority or similar organisation.

Working as part of a small and busy team in a challenging and stimulating environment, you will be organised, accurate and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Ideally, you will have experience of Modern.Gov or a similar agenda management system and be confident in using IT to deliver the team’s services.

You will be committed and flexible in your approach, and be prepared to attend evening meetings, for which a flexible application of your working hours will apply.

This post is a full-time role. However, all applications will be considered.

This is a hybrid role. You will work a combination of home and office working throughout the week. This will be discussed in interview.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Louise Fleming, Democratic Services & Business Support Team Manager on 01483 523517.

We do not accept CVs without a completed application form. Strictly no agencies please. Please note we do not accept applications after the time given on the advert.

Closing date for applications: 09:00am Monday 27 June 2022

Interview date: Week commencing 18 July 2022

Selection Process: Candidates will be asked to complete a test (remotely) in advance of the interview – further details will be provided if you are selected for interview.
