Revenue Team Leader

At Waverley Borough Council, we’re proud to be an ambitious, forward-thinking local authority, and we’re on the lookout for a Revenue Team Leader to guide and support our dedicated Revenue team. About the Role
You’ll be responsible for leading a team of officers handling Council Tax, Business Rates, and BID (Business Improvement Districts). You'll manage complex cases, support and coach team members, improve processes, and ensure accurate, efficient billing and collections.
You'll play a central role in maintaining our excellent service standards and helping residents understand and manage their payments. You’ll also lead on team performance, support business continuity planning, and represent the team in internal and external meetings.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience managing and supporting a team, with a collaborative and empowering approach
- Strong working knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates legislation and procedures
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to support customers, even in difficult situations
- Great attention to detail, a high level of numeracy, and the ability to manage competing demands
- Confidence with IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word (experience with Civica Open Revenues is a bonus)
- A professional, solution-focused mindset and a passion for delivering customer-first services
- Ideally, you’ll hold (or be working towards) an IRRV Technician or Level 3 Certificate in Revenues and Benefits

Location
Based at The Burys in the picturesque town of Godalming, with flexibility to work remotely part of the week with the time in the office agreed with The Revenue and Benefit Manager.
